Accessibility
I am on a mission to make lifeofanambitiousturtle.co.uk as user-friendly as possible. As a person with a disability and disability having a big role in my posts, it’s only right the website should have accessibility features.
I like to receive input from persons with visual, hearing and sensory challenges as to how easy the blog is to access and am open to constructive criticism.
Q. What accessibility features does this blog have?
A. The ‘Life Of An Ambitious Turtle’ blog has Image Description via ALT on every blog post for visually impaired readers.
Q. What features are in the pipeline?
A. I’m looking into how to add an audio version of each post.
Partnerships
Q. Do I write pieces for any other blogs or organisations?
A. I originally started blogging voluntarily for Muscular Dystrophy UK – Trailblazers and you can still find some of my first amateur content on their website to this day! I have been a contributor for the The Mighty and have done since 2017. However, my most notable contributions that are regular and frequent are for the accessibility guide brand AccessAble as their North West Champion and Habinteg Housing Association in my role in their Insight Advisory Group.
Publications
Q. What articles/publications have I contributed to or been mentioned in?
A. Here is a brief list;
07.02.18 by Sarah Graham
03.17 by MDUK Charity
7.12 by MDUK
Linkys
Q. What are my go-to blogger linkys?
Hi Fiona,
I have tried to get in touch with you via the contact form but it won’t send.
I love your website and everything that you do, it’s brilliant.
I work for Enhance the UK which is a user-led training and campaigning disability organisation. We are looking for contributors like yourself to be involved. In particular, we are working on a guide for disabled parents and parents of disabled children to put on our website as a resource. I would love any musings, stories, advice from you that would help other parents.
Kind Regards, Becky Batten

Hi Becky,
Thanks for reaching out. Not sure why my contact form isn’t working 🤔.
I’d love to find out more information as this sounds very exciting and something I’d love to be involved in. I’ll email the address provided tonight and we can go from there!
Best wishes,
Fi
